“From everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children.” – Psalm 103:17

Faith is not only personal; it is generational. The way you live today has the power to shape the faith of tomorrow. Psalm 103 reminds us that God’s love extends from one generation to the next, and that our walk with Him leaves an imprint on our children and grandchildren.
This truth is both humbling and encouraging. You may not feel like a spiritual giant, but the seeds of faith you plant today will grow far beyond your lifetime. Every prayer you pray, every Scripture you share, every act of obedience becomes part of a legacy that can bless generations to come.
Passing on faith does not mean you have to be perfect. It means being faithful in the small things. It means letting your children see you pray, worship, and turn to God in both good times and hard times. They learn more from your consistency than from your perfection.
The world will offer countless influences, but a faith-filled legacy is one of the greatest gifts you can leave. It is a heritage that points future generations to the love and faithfulness of God. Even if you come from a broken family background, God can use you to start a new story of faith.
Generational faith is about more than your own family. It is also about investing in others. Mentoring, serving, and encouraging young people in your community allows you to extend God’s love beyond your household.
When you live faithfully today, you are planting seeds for tomorrow. God’s love does not stop with you. It carries on to your children’s children and beyond.
What This Looks Like Today
Praying regularly for your children and grandchildren.
Sharing Scripture and stories of God’s faithfulness with your family.
Modeling faith in daily routines, not just in church.
Investing in younger generations through mentorship or encouragement.
Prayer
Lord, thank You that Your love extends from generation to generation. Help me to live faithfully today so that my children and grandchildren see Your goodness through me. Give me wisdom to pass on Your truth and courage to model obedience even when it is difficult. Heal any broken patterns from the past and use me to begin a new legacy of faith. May my family and others I influence walk in Your love for generations to come. Amen.
