The Small Still Yes

Updated: Sep 5

“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones.” – Luke 16:10

Not every step of faith is loud. Not every breakthrough begins with fire from heaven. Sometimes, it looks like quietly saying "yes" to something small. Something unseen. Something no one will clap for.

Maybe today your yes looks like getting out of bed and praying. Even if it's only a whisper. Maybe it looks like texting a friend you’ve been meaning to check in on. Maybe it’s choosing to speak gently to your child after a hard moment, or showing up to serve when you don’t feel like you have much to give.

God is in the small yeses.

In Luke 16, Jesus reminds us that faithfulness in the little things is what prepares us for the big things. He’s not just looking at what you do; He’s forming who you are. The unseen acts of obedience are not wasted. They are sacred deposits in your spiritual life that Heaven sees, honors, and grows.

Think about David, before he killed Goliath in front of an army, he was faithfully protecting sheep in a quiet field. Before Mary carried the Savior, she said a quiet, “Let it be to me according to Your word.” Before Jesus fed the 5,000, a boy offered a lunch no one else noticed.

God often starts big things in small, surrendered moments.

What This Looks Like Today

  • Saying “yes” to a nudge from the Holy Spirit, even if it feels awkward or small.

  • Choosing to stay faithful in your current season, even when it's hard or hidden.

  • Serving without recognition, forgiving before it’s requested, loving without condition.

The small yes leads to Kingdom impact.

Prayer

Lord, help me not to overlook the power of a small, faithful yes. Remind me that every step of obedience, no matter how small, is seen by You. I don’t need to be loud, I just need to be faithful. Use my small offering today to do something bigger than I can see. Amen.

Reflect & Respond

  • What’s one small thing God may be inviting you to say “yes” to today?

  • How have you seen God multiply something you once thought was too small?
