Email & SMS Marketing Terms & Conditions

JesusLife Co. (“JesusLife”, “we”, “us”) is a faith-based LLC dedicated to inspiring people to come to God daily and serving our community. We respect your privacy and choices, and follow all applicable U.S. laws (including the CAN-SPAM Act for email and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, or TCPA, for text messages). By subscribing to receive our email or SMS messages – whether you are a customer, donor, or simply a friend of the LLC – you agree to these Terms. The collection and use of your personal information is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please read these Terms carefully.
​1. Consent and Opt-In

All communications from JesusLife are strictly opt-in. Consent is required before we send any marketing messages. By providing your email address and/or mobile phone number, you expressly consent to receive emails and/or text messages from us. We collect separate, affirmative opt-ins for email and for SMS – you will never be automatically enrolled in one program by subscribing to the other. We will also inform you that standard message and data rates may apply when you opt in. Providing your mobile number (e.g. by texting our keyword or entering it on a form) confirms that you are the owner or authorized user of that phone. At no time will we force you to subscribe as a condition of purchase or support – signing up is always voluntary and separate from any transaction. In keeping with Christian values of honesty and respect, we promise that our sign-up forms and procedures will clearly explain what you’re subscribing to (including message frequency) and will link to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Types of Messages
JesusLife may send promotional (commercial) and transactional (relationship) messages:

Promotional messages are designed to advertise our products, services, events, or fundraising campaigns (for example, updates about new devotionals, merchandise, ministry events, or special offers).

Transactional messages provide information about transactions or services you’ve requested (for example, donation confirmations, order/shipping updates, subscription renewals, or account notifications).
Each message will clearly indicate its purpose. If an email combines both types of content, we determine its primary purpose to ensure compliance: if the main goal is marketing, it is treated as a commercial message and must meet all CAN-SPAM requirements; if it is primarily transactional, certain commercial requirements may be relaxed. In all cases, however, we follow the law’s spirit. Even if you have given prior consent, we will still include the required CAN-SPAM disclosures (accurate headers, a valid sender address, truthful subject lines, and opt-out information) in every email. For example, every promotional email will show our legitimate postal address and a clear unsubscribe link, and we will avoid deceptive subject lines.

3. How to Opt In
​
We offer multiple ways to join our email/SMS lists, with clear consent each time:

Website Sign-Up: When you sign up on our website (for example, to receive newsletters, devotionals, or special updates), you will see a checkbox or form field to subscribe to emails and/or SMS texts. Each form will include clear language about what kinds of messages you’ll get and how often, and will link to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Checkout/Order: During a purchase or donation, you may be offered checkboxes to receive email and SMS communications. We will use separate checkboxes (or equivalent clear consent methods) for email versus text messages, so you can choose each independently. For example, there will be one option for receiving our email newsletter and a separate option for SMS alerts.

SMS Keyword: You can join our SMS program by texting a designated keyword (e.g. “JESUSLIFE”) to our short code or phone number. By sending this keyword, you are explicitly opting in. We will reply with a confirmation message. Standard message and data rates may apply on your mobile plan.
In every opt-in process, we will promptly record your consent (date, method, and content of the disclosure) as required by law. Our sign-up messages and web forms reflect our commitment to clarity and integrity – you will always know what you are subscribing to, and you can decline at any time.

4. Message Frequency, Hours, and Costs

Frequency: We will not overload you with messages. We typically send only a few emails per month (for example, weekly or monthly newsletters, occasional event announcements, etc.) and only a few SMS texts per month, unless you expressly agree to a higher frequency during special campaigns. We will disclose any expected message frequency at the time of opt-in, in accordance with industry best practices. Even so, the actual number may vary with holidays, special events, or new ministry efforts. You can always adjust your preferences or unsubscribe if you feel the frequency is too high.

Timing (SMS only): For SMS messages, we follow TCPA rules: we will not send texts before 8:00 AM or after 9:00 PM in your local time zone. (Some states require even tighter windows, so we strive to honor any stricter local rules.) This ensures respectful timing of communications.

Costs and Fees: JesusLife Co. does not charge any fees for email or SMS subscriptions. However, normal message and data rates may be charged by your mobile carrier for receiving texts. We will notify you of this (e.g. “msg&data rates may apply”) at sign-up and in messages. No other costs or hidden fees will ever be required to receive our messages.
We believe in transparency about frequency and cost, treating you as a valued person, not a number. At opt-in we will clearly state how often we expect to message you and that carrier rates may apply, in line with the CTIA guidelines.

5. Opt-Out (Unsubscribe)

You may opt out of our marketing communications at any time, for any reason. The process is simple and immediate:

Email Unsubscribe: Every email we send includes a clear “Unsubscribe” or “Manage Preferences” link in the footer. Clicking this link (or following the instructions in the email) will remove you from that list. We will honor all valid opt-out requests within 10 business days as required by CAN-SPAM. Until we complete the request, you may receive up to 10 more days of messages (to ensure all unsubscribe notices are processed). Alternatively, you can email us at info@jesuslifeco.com or call our customer support to request removal.

SMS Opt-Out: For text messages, reply with “STOP” to any message you receive from JesusLife. This will immediately trigger a confirmation (you may receive one final text saying you have been unsubscribed). After you reply “STOP”, you will receive no further marketing SMS messages from us. We also accept alternative stop-words like “QUIT”, “CANCEL”, or “UNSUBSCRIBE” – any of these will work. For help, you can reply “HELP” to any text, and we will respond with support information. If you opt out by texting STOP or any other way, we will honor it right away and at no cost to you.
As a faith-driven company, we pledge to respect your choices. We will handle opt-out requests promptly and will never retaliate or harass you for unsubscribing. (We also note that if you unsubscribe from marketing, you may still receive transactional messages you signed up for, such as order confirmations or donation receipts, if and as required. However, you will not receive any additional promotional content.)

6. Privacy and Data Handling

JesusLife Co. treasures your trust. We collect only the personal data necessary to send you the communications you request (typically your name, email address, and/or mobile number). Your information is handled securely and with care, in accordance with U.S. law and our stated policies. We will never sell or rent your contact information for marketing purposes. We share your information only with our email/SMS service providers and partners who help us deliver these messages (for example, our email marketing platform and SMS gateway), and only to the extent needed for that purpose. We maintain internal controls to protect your data, following industry best practices.
By opting in, you agree that we may store and use your information to send you communications as described here. We will retain your data only as long as necessary for our messaging program (or as legally required), and then either delete or irreversibly anonymize it. You have the right to request access to or deletion of your data. For more details on data collection, usage, and your rights, see our Privacy Policy. As a Christian organization, we commit to upholding ethical and legal standards in every aspect of our outreach; we treat your personal data as a trust from God that we must steward faithfully.

7. Eligibility

To join our SMS program, you must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction); for email communications we require you to be at least 13 years old (in compliance with U.S. children’s privacy laws). By subscribing, you represent that you meet these age requirements and that you are authorized to provide the contact information you submit. If you are under the required age, please obtain a parent’s consent or refrain from subscribing. In addition, you must have a valid U.S. mobile phone number (or email address) where you can receive messages. This program is intended for use within the United States; we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone located outside the U.S. or who is otherwise not eligible.
(If someone subscribes on behalf of another person, they represent that they have the other person’s permission to do so. We will not knowingly send messages to anyone who has not consented.)

8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
​
JesusLife Co. offers our email and SMS program on an “as-is” basis. While we strive for excellence in every message, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service or delivery. We are not liable for any incidental or consequential damages related to our messages. For example, we cannot guarantee that an email will reach your inbox (spam filters may sometimes block it) or that a text will be delivered (wireless carriers or technical issues may cause delays or failures). To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither JesusLife Co. nor our service providers will be responsible for failed, delayed, or misdirected deliveries. We also disclaim any warranties (express or implied) about the content of our messages – all communications are provided for informational and encouragement purposes only. Nothing in an email or text message constitutes professional advice, and we disclaim any liability for reliance on their content.
In short, while we will do our best to serve you faithfully, we cannot promise perfection. We pray that our messages will uplift and bless you, but we are not responsible for any mistakes, misunderstandings, or technical issues beyond our control.

9. Governing Law
​
These Terms and any disputes arising from our email/SMS communications shall be governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any legal action related to these communications must be filed in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Indiana. (We choose Indiana because our company is based there; using this law provides predictability and consistency.) This choice of law does not affect any of your individual rights under U.S. federal law.

10. Changes to These Terms

JesusLife Co. reserves the right to modify or update these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will revise the Effective Date above and post the new version on our website. We will also notify subscribers of significant updates via email or SMS if feasible. Your continued use of our email or SMS services after any change constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. (If you disagree with a change, you must unsubscribe to stop receiving messages.)
